Last Vacation
We went to Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta this weekend, which we figure is our last real vacation for the next five years.
Our game plan is pretty simple: First, find a contractor and take care of all the legal/government/permit issues. We gave ourselves a year to do that. Second, start renovating, which we also figured would take a year. Third, open the B&B, which will take at least two or three years to become self-sufficient. Until then, all of our time, money, and energy will be focused on Pennsylvania. We've already plotted our "vacation" schedule for 2004: Four trips to Lancaster, and one to Georgia (my family).
Fortunately, we're lucky in three ways: We're both professionals, so we can afford this; we don't have any children, so we can afford this; and we're both (relatively) young, so we think we can afford this.
